Beautifully designed and built, with a style evident of Oliver Messel’s great mind, St Helena offers guests a unique feeling of old colonial times, married to perfect proportions and a classic blend of indoor and outdoor living.
Nestled amongst beautiful gardens and grounds, this beach house benefits from being right on the white sandy beaches of Barbados’ west coast. There are water features in the gardens, numerous carved fountains, a Jacuzzi and even a speedboat for your use, offering an hour free per day.
A rather unique addition of an aviary which is home to 250 homing budgerigars gives the property a certain quirkiness. Comfortable and tasteful furnishings are evident throughout and there is everything you could want to make you feel right at home.
Excellent swimming can be had on the beach at the front of the property, and there is even a lovely dining gazebo in the grounds that is perfect for casual and al fresco meals in the sunshine.
St Helena is truly a stunning example of Caribbean living, and perfect for large families or groups wishing to sample the high life here in Barbados.
Please note that smoking is not permitted indoors and children under 12 must be supervised or accompanied by a nanny.
The five bedrooms at St Helena are all air conditioned and offer sumptuous comfort and space to guests, with modern and thoughtful touches throughout, and all with en-suite facilities.
The upstairs bedrooms all open out onto a semi-circular veranda with its own bar and lounge area, with views out over the tropical gardens and the sea beyond. The master bedroom features a grand canopied bed and private sitting area/study, with the en-suite boasting a Jacuzzi style tub.
Bedrooms 2 and 3 are upstairs and feature king size beds and shower only en-suites. Downstairs the remaining two bedrooms also feature king size beds and en-suites with shower only.
Spacious rooms and ample seating/lounging spaces lend themselves to the ideal of inside/outside living that became a trademark of Oliver Messel’s designs. Downstairs two large sitting rooms lead out onto a covered dining patio overlooking the gardens. A separate al fresco dining area gives guests the choice of where to take their meals.
The pool deck is partly covered and features cascading fountains carved from coral stone, as well as a bar area for entertaining in the evenings
The staff at St Helena are dedicated to ensuring you have a wonderful holiday experience, enabling you to relax and make the most of your stay on the island. The team is overseen by the property manager and there is a butler, cook and housekeeper.
Please note that our housekeepers are not trained nannies and should not be expected to look after and/or babysit infants and children. If you do make babysitting arrangements with the staff, please be advised this is at your own risk.
