The Caves is a truly unique hotel built into the limestone cliffs in the western tourist destination of Negril. A delightful sanctuary right on the ocean’s edge, where twelve rooms and suites provide the accommodation while private in-cave dining and a decadent spa provide the inevitable romance. Located close to a 7 mile stretch of white sandy beach, and with the blues of the sea and the sky stretching far and away into the distance.
Negril has long been known for its off-the-beaten-track appeal, and it still maintains this charm today, despite an increase in popularity over the years. Some of the best water and land activities on the island can be found nearby. While it is close to the local centre, it feels a bit like a castled perched high above the town.
The seafront portion of the 10-acre site is designed to be an array of caves and caverns, thrown up from the sea due to ancient volcanic activity. Exploring these is a veritable delight and you will find dozens of fossilized sea creatures if you look close enough.
The resort also has two dining areas set in rustic gazebos, a full bar deep inside two of the larger caverns, a Jacuzzi, saltwater swimming pool, sauna and a fully-serviced spa. An early morning tradition is to dive into the ocean from the cliff edge, where you can then rock gently on rafts floating in the nearby waters. The Caves is an experience unto itself, and one that is sure to last long in the memory after you have returned home.
