There is plenty to do with a range of water sports as well as a beauty salon and spa. It’s great for the kids too and there are activities with them in mind, not to mention a great Kids Club with arts & crafts, pool time and beach games. There is also a babysitting service on request.
Maxwell beach is the location for the Bougainvillea Resort, well known for its lively nightlife, bars and restaurants. It offers you the chance to live it up or relax during your stay here. Two of the most popular spots in Barbados are only 5 minutes away – namely Oistins and St Lawrence Gap.
Rooms
Our spacious suites provide a home away from home, with complimentary Wi?Fi, plush bedding, private terraces or balconies and in-room kitchens. Many accommodations offer sweeping views of the ocean, along with our tropical gardens and meandering pools.
Deluxe Studios – With all the amenities of the Superior Studio, these rooms offer a choice of bedding styles: either one king size bed or a queen size bed with a pull out sofa to sleep additional people. The kitchenette has microwave, refrigerator, double burner stove, crockery and cutlery. The bathrooms have a combination shower/bath.
Junior Suite – Featuring a queen size bed and a pull out sofa in a separate living area – providing the perfect place to relax after a long day. It has the complete feature set of the deluxe studio but with a more spacious arrangement.
Honeymoon Suite – Available on request, these suites provide the ultimate romantic getaway. Featuring a four-poster bed and a furnished terrace, they cradle newlyweds in opulent surroundings and enable you to fully experience the atmosphere and each other’s company. With all the luxury of a Bougainvillea suite, you and your other half will have the upmost privacy on your Barbados holiday.
Deluxe One Bedroom Suites – Furnished similarly to the deluxe studios, these suites offer two bedroom configurations and have open-plan living and dining rooms. The large well-equipped kitchens have everything you need to cook for yourself if you don’t opt for a meal plan, and spacious bathrooms have double sinks with a combination shower/bath. The private terraces/balconies are furnished with dining tables/chairs and offer ocean, pool or garden views.
One Bedroom Penthouse Suite – Penthouse suites are incredibly lavish and spacious, with some even split across two floors. The views from the balconies are incredible and the suites feature a dining room with space for 6, living room with pull out sofa and a full kitchen. The private balconies or terraces are furnished to reflect the exclusivity of these rooms.
Deluxe Two Bedroom Suites – Similar to the single level penthouses, these suites offer the same feature set with two private bedrooms. The bedrooms can be configured with a king size bed in each or one king size and one queen, with one bathroom. There are fantastic views over the ocean and the pools & gardens.

A fantastic dining experience is always on the menu at Calabash Beach Bistro, where we pair fresh, flavourful cuisine with breathtaking ocean views. We’re open daily overlooking the fabulous Maxwell Beach, which along with the tropical gardens at Bougainvillea Barbados, has inspired our comfy, fresh beach-chic decor.
Join us for a relaxed and leisurely breakfast – you can choose from our a la carte menu or have it all with our delicious, hearty buffet breakfast. Enjoy casual beachside dining for lunch and dinner with mouth-watering flavours to tantalize and satisfy any palate. Our menu features a wonderful selection of seafood, pizzas, international cuisine with a local infusion of flavours, sweet treats and exciting cocktails. You also don’t want to miss our weekend brunch and our special “Taste of Thai” menu, every Saturday!
Lanterns by the Sea – Featuring contemporary local fare and using only fresh local ingredients, Lanterns offers diners’ light, clean cuisine while capturing the unique flavours of the area. Delicate infusions are abundant in this fantastic location and you can sample some of the best that the Caribbean has to offer. There are several meal plan combinations to consider ensuring total flexibility.
Water’s Edge Restaurant – Fusing true Italian classics with Barbados flair, the chef’s carefully designed menu brings a subtle twist to home-made favourites. The selection is sure to please the young and old and there is family dining as well as an a la carte option.
Pool Bar- No need to dry off, just swim right up to the Pool Bar and enjoy refreshing tropical cocktails! Happy hour is daily from 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm.
Water’s Edge Bar & Lounge – A cosy bar & lounge ideal for pre-dinner drinks or after dinner cocktails.
Some of the best entertainers on the island perform here on a weekly basis. There are live bands, steelpan and a Caribbean style buffet and floor show every Thursday. Local performers and Caribbean rhythms continue into the night, with exciting acts such as stilt-walking, fire-eating and limbo.
